Job summary

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Silicon Valley is seeking a Pastry Cook 3 to join our luxury kitchen team. You will support the Pastry Chef by preparing pastry items, maintaining sanitation, stocking supplies, and contributing to menu development for fine dining and events.

The ideal candidate has culinary training or equivalent experience, strong knife skills, and the ability to work 8-hour shifts. Flexibility for weekdays, weekends and holidays is required.

The Opportunity:

Four Seasons is currently looking for Pastry Cook 3.

Essential function of the job:

Reporting to the Pastry Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards
• Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product
• Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed
• Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
• Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications
• Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
• Other duties to be assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

• We are looking for an individual who is passionate about cuisine!
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are required in this position.
• The line cook works together with other team members on a daily basis to ensure a flawlessly executed final product and the ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and supervisors is required.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• The cook position is required to operate, maintain and properly clean the kitchen equipment, such as broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, and oven.
• Proficient knife skills are also required.
• Position also requires continuous standing for up to 8 hrs per shift and the ability to lift up to 70lbs.
• The ideal candidate would have a combination of a culinary degree and work experience or the equivalent work experience in a full service fine dining restaurant, if no culinary degree has been obtained.
• Previous luxury hospitality culinary experience preferred
• Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
• Must be flexible with schedule – Able to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Must provide work authorization document - proof of eligibility to work in the United States of America.
