Job Description: Pastry Cook at North Beach Village Resort
Join us to apply for the Pastry Cook role at North Beach Village Resort. We are seeking a skilled individual to create and prepare pastry items, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and collaborate on menu development.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business.
- Prepare, clean, and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen.
- Develop new recipe ideas from scratch.
- Prepare glazes, fillings, toppings, and other products according to company standards and recipes provided by the Executive Pastry Chef.
- Plan dessert and pastry menus to complement savory dishes.
- Ensure the kitchen remains clean and sanitized at all times.
- Calculate and scale recipes to meet production needs.
- Oversee junior pastry cooks and other staff as necessary.
- Maintain current knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients.
- Perform administrative duties to ensure an efficient workspace.
- Handle and reheat food appropriately.
- Work varying schedules based on hotel needs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as a prep cook, pastry cook, or similar role.
- Thorough understanding of basic pastry techniques.
- Professional communication skills with the public, staff, and management.
- Computer and phone literacy.
- Ability to maintain supplies and sanitation standards.
- Physical ability to bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma is a plus.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
