Job Description: Pastry Cook at North Beach Village Resort

Join us to apply for the Pastry Cook role at North Beach Village Resort. We are seeking a skilled individual to create and prepare pastry items, maintain a clean and organized kitchen, and collaborate on menu development.

Responsibilities:
  1. Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business.
  2. Prepare, clean, and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen.
  3. Develop new recipe ideas from scratch.
  4. Prepare glazes, fillings, toppings, and other products according to company standards and recipes provided by the Executive Pastry Chef.
  5. Plan dessert and pastry menus to complement savory dishes.
  6. Ensure the kitchen remains clean and sanitized at all times.
  7. Calculate and scale recipes to meet production needs.
  8. Oversee junior pastry cooks and other staff as necessary.
  9. Maintain current knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients.
  10. Perform administrative duties to ensure an efficient workspace.
  11. Handle and reheat food appropriately.
  12. Work varying schedules based on hotel needs.
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of experience as a prep cook, pastry cook, or similar role.
  • Thorough understanding of basic pastry techniques.
  • Professional communication skills with the public, staff, and management.
  • Computer and phone literacy.
  • Ability to maintain supplies and sanitation standards.
  • Physical ability to bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
