Role Description

The Pastry Cook role is a full-time, on-site position located at Rivers Casino Des Plaines in Des Plaines, IL. This role is responsible for preparing and baking pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and presentation standards. Daily tasks include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating bakery equipment, decorating and plating pastries, and ensuring consistent quality and taste. The Pastry Cook maintains high standards of cleanliness and food safety, organizes workstations, and assists with inventory, storage, and rotation of ingredients. This position collaborates with the culinary team to support special events, menu changes, and seasonal offerings while providing a high level of service to the casino’s guests.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in bakery operations, including experience in a professional Bakery environment and knowledge of Baking techniques.


• Demonstrated Creativity Skills for designing, decorating, and presenting pastries and desserts in an appealing and consistent manner.


• Commitment to strict Hygiene and food safety practices, including maintaining a clean workspace and following health regulations.


• Practical Cooking skills, with the ability to follow recipes, adjust flavors, and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.


• Previous experience in a pastry, bakery, or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
