Job summary

Eurest, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a full-time Pastry Chef in Santa Clara, CA. You will create, plan and supervise the daily production of pastries, desserts and baked goods for a corporate dining account.

The role requires at least 3 years of baking experience, with a 3:00 am - 11:30 pm schedule, and you will supervise pastry staff, manage inventory and uphold food safety standards.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of baking experience required.
• Preferably for a Corporate Dining account.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods.
• Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures.
• Monitors sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to meet standards.
• Supervises pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training and reviews.
• Helps plan and implement seasonal menus and maintains inventory of pastry supplies.

• Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday - Friday, 3:00 am - 11:30 pm. More details upon interview.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods.
• Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs.
• Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
• Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets/exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations.
• Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate.
• Helps plan and implement seasonal menus.
• Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
