Job summary

Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA is seeking a Pastry/Bakery Associate to join our culinary team. The role focuses on basic doughs, bread, and dessert production, delivering high-quality pastry items for our dining outlets and events.

You will work with limited supervision, maintain sanitation standards, and contribute to daily kitchen operations. Apprenticeship or associate degree in pastry/baking is preferred, with 2 years related experience acceptable.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic pastry production processes.
• Understanding icings, fillings, and frostings.
• Proficiency in finishing tortes and decorative work.
• Completion of a pastry/baking apprenticeship or an Associates Degree, or 2 years related experience.
• Basic sanitation and safety knowledge.
• Good communications skills and ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a la carte, banquet, and buffet pastry presentations.
• Bake and prepare a variety of basic doughs and breads.
• Perform other duties as required by the culinary team.

• Prepare a variety of basic doughs
• Perform other duties as required

• Proficient in the hand skill required in producing finished tortes
• Completion of a pastry or baking apprenticeship, Associates Degree in Pastry and Baking, or 2 years related experience

Physical requirements include, but are not limited to:
