Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Pre Admission Surgical Screening RN. The role is mostly remote with one mandatory on-site day weekly, supporting endoscopy outpatient procedures and inpatient add-ons.
The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, care planning, med administration, and post-procedure care while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team. Required ASN or BSN and VA state/compact RN license, BLS within 90 days, ACLS within 90 days.
This role is Monday-Friday 0800-1630. Primarily remote with one mandatory on site day at SNGH rotating weekly. The PASS RN will support Endoscopy outpatient procedural cases & inpatient add ons
The Registered Nurse will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of patient care, including conducting thorough assessments, designing and implementing personalized care plans, administering medications and treatments, and evaluating patient responses to interventions. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.
In this role, you will educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. You will monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patient conditions, and respond promptly with appropriate interventions. Utilizing sound clinical judgment, you will address complex health situations, consult with medical team members as needed, and document all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.

As a patient advocate, you will work tirelessly to ensure each patient's comfort, dignity, and well-being while fostering trust and a sense of security. Responsible for performing competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by clinical area(s). Exhibits sound knowledge and understanding of routine nursing procedures and RN and LPN scope of practice.
We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
