Position Overview

GLS is seeking a professional Pashto Consecutive Interpreter to provide onsite interpretation services in Plymouth, Michigan. The interpreter will support effective communication between English-speaking personnel and Pashto-speaking clients in a professional environment.

Work Details

• Location: 14200 North Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI
• Type: Onsite only
• Schedule: As needed (based on client demand)
• Dress Code: Business or business casual

Key Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation (Pashto ↔ English) during onsite sessions
• Ensure completeness, neutrality, and cultural accuracy of all interpretations
• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and professional standards
• Arrive on time and maintain professionalism at all timesManage communication flow and request clarification when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• Fluency in Pashto and English (required)
• Proven experience in consecutive interpreting
• Strong listening, memory retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical, legal, or community interpretation
• National certifications (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) or equivalent
