Lake View Elementary in Madison, WI is seeking a Bilingual Resource Specialist to support English Learners and families within the Multilingual Programs & Services team. This non-exempt role focuses on instructional supports, translation, and cultural liaison work within MMSD.

Qualifications

• Must pass MMSD reading, writing, and oral proficiency assessment in target language and English (based on district screening process).

Responsabilités

• Maintain and adhere to a weekly schedule of academic and linguistic support.
• Provide students with academic, linguistic, and cultural support in the classroom with staff assistance.
• Facilitate and enhance communication, including translation and interpretation.
• Build relationships with English Learners and their families.
• Assist ESL/BRT with Home Language Survey, ESL status and services, and ensure EL records are current.
• Differentiate and obtain cultural background information relevant for instruction and assessment.
• Implement one-on-one and small group lesson plans under certified staff supervision.
• Provide interpretation for school staff and at school events.
