Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Per Diem Admissions Clerk to facilitate the smooth admission of inpatients and outpatient testing patients. You will interview patients, collect information, and enter it into our computer system, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

The role requires excellent English communication, strong interpersonal skills, and basic medical billing familiarity. This onsite position at 81 Highland Avenue offers rotating shifts and a pathway to contribute to CQI

Qualifications

• Read, write and speak English required; additional languages a plus.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Analytical ability for numbers and situations.
• Ability to type 40 wpm.
• Familiarity with medical billing; managed care and other medical insurance.
• Previous office experience or training with exposure to keyboard, computer and other office equipment required, preferably in a medical setting.
• Previous experience or training in customer service required.
• Associate Degree in business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures.
• Interviews incoming patient or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database.
• Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments.
• Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
