Job summary

Catering by Michaels in the Chicago area is seeking a part-time Party Cook to join our kitchen team for off-site catered events. As a Party Cook, you’ll prepare, cook, and present a diverse menu, assist with setup and teardown, and work under our Party Chefs.

Must be 18+ with reliable transportation, English or Spanish language skills, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and food safety. Shifts are scheduled via our platform for events across Illinois and Chicago.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 or older and have reliable transportation to and from work outside of CTA.
• Proficiency in English and/or Spanish.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative kitchen environment.
• Uphold high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
• Back-of-house culinary skills and willingness to support event operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present a diverse range of dishes with efficiency and finesse.
• Contribute to full-service catering by assisting with setup and teardown.
• Prepare appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts for buffet and plated meals.
• Maintain a tidy, organized kitchen and handle dishwashing duties.
