Job summary

Matrix Service in Washington state seeks a seasoned Party Chief Surveyor to lead field crews on new construction projects. You will ensure safety, supervise the crew, manage data collection and maintain quality in field operations.

You will read engineering drawings, stakeout, and monitor performance while coordinating with project leaders and clients. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving are essential, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Must have 5 years working as a Party Chief Surveyor on a new construction site.
  • Must have 1+ year's supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in managing crew, time, and costs.
  • Must have good leadership and communication skills.
  • Must understand Matrix Service policies and procedures.
  • Must complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
  • Must obtain and maintain active status within the required drug testing program.
  • Must pass a Background Check.

Job Summary

The Party Chief is responsible for the overall management of the survey crew, works under the direction of the Project Manager and Construction Manager, serves as client liaison, is responsible for the safety of the crew and equipment, manages computations, and maintains safety standards

Physical Requirements
  • Employees will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting.
  • Must be able to hear, speak, understand and communicate effectively.
  • Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
  • May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50lbs.
  • Will occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements.
  • Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long periods of times up to 12 hours a day.
  • Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

The pay rate will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience, specific skill set, geographic location, internal equity, and other factors influencing pay. As such, the actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of this range, and in certain circumstances, may fall outside the listed hiring range.

Hiring range: $41.00 to $47.00 per hour

Full range for this position, available overtime: $41.00 - $47.00 hour
