Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking multiple Survey Party Chiefs to join our Survey Division.

You will manage, instruct, and train a survey crew of 1-5 people, assign tasks, and monitor performance in field and office settings. Responsibilities include completing boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA, GPS, hydrographic and control surveys, working primarily in the field (about 90%), and collaborating with construction plans for large commercial projects.

Qualifications

Construction staking and data collection experience required.
Basic GPS operations.
Proficient with Robotic Total Station.
Familiar with basic computer applications.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; positive client/public relation in the field.
Minimum 7-10 years as Crew Leader/Party Chief.
Surveying license or LSIT.
Experience with Trimble or similar software.
Commercial construction experience.

Responsibilities

Oversee operation and maintenance of survey equipment and assist training others.
Prepare field sketches/drawings and high-quality field notes.
Assemble instruments and measuring devices for survey work and adjust instruments.
Ensure proper equipment is loaded and batteries charged for next assignment.
Perform mathematical calculations and read plans/specifications.
Understand measurement errors and basic construction staking concepts.
Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements.
Provide positive client/public relations in the field.
Complete assigned tasks and perform other duties as needed.

Overview

We are currently seeking mutiple Survey Party Chiefsto join ourSurvey Division.

In this role you can expect to manage, instruct, and train a survey crew of 1 -5 people, including but not limited to assigning and monitoring work and providing evaluations.

Complete surveying for boundary and topographic, ALTA, GPS, hydrographic and control surveys. Work with construction plans and providing surveying for large, fast paced commercial projects. Perform 90% of work in the field and may be conducted outside in various conditions.

Responsibilities

Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment used on job site and assist with training others when practical
Prepare field sketches/drawings and high-quality field notes, including level notes, for each project in accordance with company and general survey standards
Assemble all instruments and measuring devices needed to complete various types of survey work assignments. Accurately run and adjust survey-measuring instruments including level, transit, theodolite, electronic measuring devices and total stations with electronic data collecting capabilities
Ensures that the proper equipment is loaded, and batteries charged for the next assignment
Performs mathematical calculations
Ability to read and understanding plans and specifications
Understanding of basic sources of measurement errors
Knowledgeable of principals of construction staking and stake markings
Adhere to company safety policies along with use of supplied personal protective equipment, (PPE)
Provide positive client/public relations in the field
Accountable for completing assigned tasks
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Construction staking and data collection systems experience required.
Ability to perform basic GPS operations.
Proficient with Robotic Total Station.
Be familiar with basic computer applications.
Possess good interpersonal skills, and effective written and oral communication skills and provide a positive client/public relationship in the field.
Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a Crew Leader/ Party Chief.
Valid driver’s license required.
Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Requires knowledge of both survey technology and basic civil engineering concepts.
Five or more years of experience as a Crew Leader/ Party Chief.
Surveying license or LSIT.
Strong experience performing complex surveying calculations.
Experience with Trimble or similar software.
Commercial construction experience.

Compensation

Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
