Job summary

Acteon Group is seeking a Party Chief to supervise offshore survey operations, lead a team, and ensure adherence to safety and project procedures. You will oversee mobilization/demobilization, data collection, reporting, and client communications in challenging offshore environments.

The role requires extensive offshore surveying experience, a related bachelor’s degree, and strong analytical and leadership skills to guide a 4+ person team and deliver high-quality results on time and safely.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years offshore survey experience in construction support, pipelay, LBL, IRM, geophysical survey, or wind farm projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Survey/Geodetics/Geomatics is required.
• Familiar with 4DNAV & EIVA Online Software is preferred.
• Experience in Deep Water Construction Survey and LBL Operations is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client communications.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing a team of 4+ personnel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise survey operations with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance with contractual requirements.
• Manage mobilization and demobilization activities with focus on personnel and asset safety.
• Ensure all systems function in line with project procedures and company procedures.
• Collect, collate, QC, and distribute all survey data per procedures and client specs.
• Advise on deviations and document through Management of Change procedures.
• Prepare operational/field reports concisely and per project procedures and client specs.
• Complete final reporting and data transfer/backups per project requirements.
• Communicate effectively with client and onshore team.
• Lead and mentor offshore team, conduct performance feedback, and ensure team understanding of roles.
• Participate in and uphold Quality and HSE systems and procedures.

Party Chief

Duties

• Supervise survey operations ensuring safe working practices at all times and with due regard to contractual requirements, scope of work, procedures and regulations
• Manage mobilization and demobilization activities with regard to safety of personnel and assets
• Ensure all systems are functioning in compliance with contractual requirements, project procedures and company procedures to effectively conduct the scope of work
• Ensure collection, collation, QC and distribution of all survey data relating to the scope of work as per project procedures and company procedures
• Advise onshore management, company and client representatives when deviation from the approved procedure is necessary and record through the Management of Change Procedure
• Compile operational / field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures
• Complete final reporting and data transfer / backup in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures
• Effectively communicate with client representatives and company representatives onshore
• Ensure all personnel in the offshore team understand their roles and responsibilities
• Conduct personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned
• Actively participate and lead by example in the Company's Quality and HSE Systems and Procedures
• Understand and comply with UTEC PPE requirements, policies and procedures
• Be prepared to "Stop the Job" in the event that yourself, others or equipment may be exposed to injury / damage

Required

• At least 10 years of Offshore Survey experience handling either of these types of work Construction Support, Pipelay, LBL, IRM, Geophysical Survey, Wind Farm
• Minimum bachelor's degree holder in the field Survey/Geodetics/Geomatics
• Familiar with 4DNAV & EIVA Online Software (Preferred)
• Experience in Deep Water Construction Survey and LBL Operations (Preferred)
• Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills for Report Writing and Daily Communications with Clients
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing a team of 4-man or more
