Job summary

Allan Myers Inc. is seeking a survey supervisor to lead surveying activities for heavy civil construction projects. You will direct a small team, understand project plans thoroughly, and collaborate with the project team to prioritize tasks on site.

This role requires a minimum of five years of survey experience in heavy civil settings, Terramodel and Trimble software proficiency, and a valid driver’s license. We offer competitive pay and a path for growth in a leading self-performing contractor.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of survey experience in a heavy civil construction environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Terramodel, Trimble Business Center and Trimble GPS experience a must.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate surveying activities with one direct report.
  • Demonstrates experience in construction site/heavy civil layout.
  • Manage crew and meet schedule obligations.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning and develop project schedule with owner or owner representative.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the survey function with value-adding activities.
  • Coordinate with Operations on equipment and labor needs.
  • Ensure customer and inspector satisfaction in all relations and interactions.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Responsibilities

This position plans, directs, and coordinates activities of self and one direct report to support the surveying needs of heavy construction projects. Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs under the direction of the Survey Manager.

  • Demonstrates experience in construction site/heavy civil layout.
  • Managing a crew and fulfilling schedule obligations.
  • Participates as required with the in-house pre-construction planning procedure and development of the project schedule and meets with the owner or the owner representative.
  • Learns all the details of the plans and specifications of the project assigned. Partner with project team supervision to prioritize tasks.
  • Aggressively seeks out opportunities to increase the AAM survey function with value-adding activities.
  • Coordinate with Operations on the projects needs for equipment and labor.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction in all Customer and Inspector relations and interactions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
