Job description

Principle Employment Law, APC is a boutique plaintiff-side employment law firm based in Los Angeles. We represent employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage & hour matters.

We are seeking a project-based, part-time paralegal to assist with litigation and case management support. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and able to work independently. This role requires fluency in employment law procedures, particularly case management and client intake. While the position is initially project-based, there may be an opportunity to extend or expand the engagement if it’s a strong fit.

Key Responsibilities :

Case Management : Maintain case files, track deadlines, manage workflows across multiple matters

Court Calendaring : Accurately calculate and calendar deadlines under the California Code of Civil Procedure and local rules

Employment Intakes : Conduct client intakes, flag key legal issues, and prepare clean summaries for attorney review

Draft and format pleadings, discovery, and basic correspondence

Assist with deposition and trial preparation

Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and third parties

Requirements :

1+ years of litigation experience; California employment law strongly preferred

Strong understanding of California Civil Procedure and state/federal court calendaring

Excellent organizational and written communication skills

Experience conducting and summarizing employment law intakes

Proficient in Word, Acrobat, Outlook, and calendar tools (Clio, Westlaw, or similar systems a plus)

Ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and stay detail-oriented

Schedule : Part-time, flexible (approx. 10–20 hrs/week)

Status : Project-based with potential for ongoing work

Compensation : $25–$45/hour, depending on experience

Location : Remote; LA-based preferred for occasional in-person support

Engagement Type : 1099 contractor or W-2, depending on fit and preference
