Overview
Tampa, FL Mayersohn Law Group, P.A. is currently seeking a part-time Family Law Attorney to support our growing caseload in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in family law proceedings with a minimum of 3 years of experience, possess strong courtroom and negotiation skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality legal support to families navigating complex transitions. This position would be performed remotely from a home office, with suites available for client meetings in the Tampa and St. Petersburg areas, with potential to transition into a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, post-judgment cases, dependency, and domestic violence. Develop and execute legal strategies tailored to each client’s goals, case facts, and applicable law.
- Prepare for and conduct court hearings, including evidentiary hearings and trials.
- Lead and participate in mediations and negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Draft and supervise the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, contracts, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct legal research and case analysis to support litigation and settlement strategy.
- Meet with clients to discuss case progress, evaluate options, and determine next steps.
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding significant developments in their matters.
- Collaborate with internal staff and external professionals, including expert witnesses, to support case outcomes.
- Assign and oversee work performed by legal support staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Provide copies of any and all documents provided by clients to MLG staff; provide copies of any and all documents drafted to MLG staff.
- Track billable time and value delivered to clients in accordance with firm policies.
- Participate in bi-weekly case review meetings with firm leadership to assess strategy, support needs, and payment status.
- Contribute to firm performance by meeting or exceeding key metrics and expectations.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the Florida Bar Association.
- At least 3 years of experience practicing family law.
- Willingness to travel to Tampa and St. Petersburg courts as needed or relocate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Empathy, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive client matters.
Compensation
$65,000 - $75,000 yearly
