Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced bookkeeper to help prepare monthly profit-and-loss (P&L) statements for our growing retail business. This is a remote position; our company is headquartered in Blauvelt, NY, and someone residing in the NYC Metropolitan Area is preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Our company operates: 8 physical retail stores, 1 e-commerce store, 1 management company. The goal is to generate accurate, timely monthly financials and provide occasional bookkeeping support for our management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile monthly P&L statements for each store and online operation
• Reconcile key accounts (bank, merchant services, sales tax, etc.)
• Track expenses, returns, vendor bills
• Coordinate with owner or staff to clarify missing data
• Use accounting and payroll software (Lightspeed/ADP)
• Provide basic variance analysis or trend flags

Requirements

• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience (multi-location retail a plus)
• Proficient with Lightspeed, ADP, Excel/Google Sheets
• Comfortable working independently and remotely
• Strong attention to detail
• Prior experience managing monthly reports across multiple units

Preferred

• Experience with Lightspeed POS systems
• CPA or full-charge bookkeeping background
