Job summary

Kendall Auto Group is seeking a Partsperson Apprentice at Kendall Ford of Wasilla to support the parts department serving technicians and customers. The role involves selling OEM and aftermarket parts, maintaining inventory, and assisting with orders and warranties.

The position is hourly with potential to advance to a full-time Parts counterperson role including commission. Ideal candidates have automotive parts experience, inventory control knowledge, and familiarity with electronic parts

Qualifications

• Experience with automotive parts and inventory management.
• Knowledge of electronic parts catalogs; manufacturer catalogs preferred.
• Not an entry-level role; prior parts experience required.

Responsibilities

• Sell parts to customers and vendors in person, over the phone, and online.
• Maintain inventory records and assist technicians.
• Create invoices, process orders, returns and warranties, receive parts from deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with customers and technicians to prioritize parts.

At Kendall Ford of Wasilla, our parts department is a fast-paced environment serving technicians within the dealership as well as clients throughout the community by selling OEM and aftermarket parts to our clients.

Kendall Auto Group offers competitive compensation through base + commission pay plans. Employees in this position typically bring home $35,000-$40,000 annually depending on their drive and customer service skills. The required schedule is Monday - Friday 8am-5pm and occasional Saturdays when necessary. This position is hourly with potential to grow in to a full time Parts counterperson position including commission.

We are a premier employer in the area and our dealership serves not only the local community but also all the outlying, rural communities with all their Ford parts and service needs. This means there is no lack of work for our parts personnel.

Job duties will include selling parts to customers and vendors via phone, internet, and in person, maintaining inventory records, assisting customers and technicians with parts needs and obtaining parts information, creating invoices, processing orders, returns, and warranties, and receiving parts from delivery. You will be working with customers and technicians closely, the ability to communicate effectively, make recommendations, and prioritize items in order of importance is required.

Work is performed indoors spending up to 75% of work shift using computers and phone systems. Standing and walking for up to 30% of work shift is required to assist clients at the counter and deliver parts to technicians. Carrying and lifting 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds rarely required when moving parts.
