Job summary

Conveyor Concepts of Michigan, LLC in Coopersville, MI is seeking a Parts Washer / Paint Prep Technician to join our Paint Department. This hands-on role cleans and prepares parts for painting, works in a warm, wet environment, and requires standing most of the day.

We train the right candidate with no prior parts washing experience. Key responsibilities include washing parts, removing contaminants, drying and staging for painting, and ensuring proper organization by job and color.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience required.
• Forklift certification will be renewed through Conveyor Concepts upon hire.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Ability to stand and remain physically active throughout the workday.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain organization while managing multiple jobs and paint colors.

Responsibilities

• Wash and clean parts using pressure washers, solvents, and foam cleaning systems.
• Remove dirt, scale, oil, and other contaminants prior to painting.
• Dry parts and prepare them for the next stage of production.
• Verify parts are thoroughly cleaned and ready for paint.
• Stage parts on hooks, racks, saw horses, and other fixtures for painting.
• Keep parts organized by job and paint color.
• Move materials safely throughout the department.
• Operate forklifts to transport materials and finished parts.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Communicate with painters, wash helpers, and supervisors regarding workflow priorities.
• Assist with general shop duties as assigned.
• Help maintain efficient flow of work through the Paint Department.
• Support department goals related to quality, safety, and productivity.
