Job summary

Carolina Cat, a family-owned leader since 1926, seeks a skilled Parts Warehouse Supervisor at our Charlotte facility. You will direct and develop warehouse staff to maintain safe, efficient, and profitable operations while meeting branch and corporate expectations.

You’ll work closely with Parts and Service leaders to resolve pick/pack/delivery issues, lead daily 6s and SQDC reviews, and conduct annual performance evaluations. Forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge of inventory control, WMS systems, and warehouse safety practices.

• Lead by example with urgency and dedication to customer satisfaction.

Summary

The Parts Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing, training, and coaching the Charlotte warehouse employees to ensure a safe, efficient, and profitable operation. Meeting Branch and Corporate objectives and maintaining superior customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Promotes safety through own work habits. Enforce safety standards with all employees and ensures safe working conditions are maintained.
• Leads by example, showing a sense of urgency and dedication to customer satisfaction. Resolves customer complaints and issues promptly. Focus on Right Part, On Time, All the Time.
• Coordinates activities of 2nd and 3rd shift warehouse employees associated with stocking, picking, packing, delivering, returning, and shipping materials, supplies, tooling, and equipment.
• Supervises and evaluates warehouse employee work performance for exactness, neatness, and conformation to policies and procedures.
• Works closely with Parts and Service supervisors/managers to resolve any pick, pack, and delivery issues. Collaborates collectively to develop processes and controls to improve operations.
• Updates SQDC boards and leads daily team huddles to review performance.
• Performs daily Gemba walks with Warehouse Leads to identify 6s concerns and task status.
• Performs weekly Gemba walks with Parts Manager to identify 6s concerns and task status.
• Coordinate semi-annual surplus returns to CAT including shipping for all stores
• Performs annual performance reviews with employees.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or manager role.
• Strong working knowledge of inventory control, WMS systems, and warehouse safety practices.

Computer Skills

Previous demonstrated experience with DBS, Parts Viz, SAP and other system related tools.

Forklift driver licenses

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
