Position Summary

Receives and ships vehicle parts daily, completes accurate paper work daily and stocks new and returned parts daily. Insures that the detail work of the Parts Department is carried out to the Parts Manager’s satisfaction; receives parts to be returned for credit or to be exchanged for technician; cleans and packages for shipment all parts being returned; prepares necessary paperwork and ships to designated consignee; keeps all bins, aisles and storage areas clean, neat and clearly labeled; notifies management of inventory, supply and staffing needs as they occur; answers telephones to respond to inquiries.

Position Summary

Essential Job Functions

• Completes all paperwork accurately and in a readable manner either utilizing computer equipment or manually depending on the work required.
• Accurately compares part numbers and part names to printed invoices and order forms.
• Counts, weighs and measures parts.
• Answers telephone and responds to inquiries.
• Maintains shipping and receiving logs on a computer terminal and completes departmental paperwork from them.
• Effectively and accurately completes return or delivery paperwork.
• Determines best method of shipment, calculates shipping charges, packages material being shipped and constructs shipping containers for parts to send to correct consignee.
• Reads basic maps, follows written directions to off-site locations.
  
  

Essential Job Requirements

• Math and English reading skills sufficient to perform job duties (approximately at 10th grade general education level).
• Valid driver’s license.
• Repeatedly moves up to 50 pounds from ground level to chest height, carries 30 feet and places on shelf or counter.
• Regular, timely and daily attendance; arrive at work by 7:00 a.m. or as scheduled.
• Uses personal computer and VDT, accurately and in a timely manner, utilizing a variety of programs and systems.
• Experienced with dealership in-house computer system and factory communication system.
• Compares and reads ID numbers up to “18” alphanumeric series accurately (i.e. VIN numbers, part numbers and driver’s license numbers) from a printed and VDT format.
• Records order information (taken by phone or in person) accurately.
• Works in BOTH indoor and outdoor environments in a variety of weather conditions.
• Moves parts aisles.
• Consistently works in dusty environment with constant noise and distractions.
• Works with more than one person and/or task simultaneously, maintaining a cordial and friendly manner at all times without internalizing frustration, anger or pressure.
• Ability to maintain good employee relations by acting courteously and amicably towards other co-workers.
