Job summary

AutoNation in Fremont, CA is looking for a Service Porter to support daily dealership operations. You will assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer vehicles, remove coverings, and inspect vehicles for cleanliness and damage before return to customers.

You will also transport staff and customers, perform deliveries, and help maintain the lot, inventory, and showroom standards, ensuring safety and quality in every vehicle interaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Ability to operate and work safely around vehicles and machinery.
• Customer service oriented with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages and report any issues.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean interior and exterior of new and used vehicles.
• Keep vehicle lot neat and orderly and move units as directed.
• Return vehicle keys to the service consultant.
• Pick up and deliver vehicles to storage and from Parts Department.
• Test batteries of customer vehicles in service drive.
• Maintain building and grounds; assist with shop clean-up and deliveries.
