Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. is seeking a full-time Parts Technician to ensure technicians have the parts needed for repairs.

The role involves inventory management, audits, and processing core and warranty returns in our operations. The job may involve outdoor work and shift variations including nights and weekends. The ideal candidate will handle cycle counts, keep information systems updated, and provide general administrative support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent and up to 12–18 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to work outdoors or across multiple shifts including nights/weekends if needed.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure proper charging to the unit under repair.
• Observe all safety requirements and maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
• Mentor and train other shop personnel; perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain JBHT information systems for parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage.
• Receive inbound shipments, stock parts, and conduct cycle counts/inventories.
• Provide basic administrative support such as copying, typing, and record-keeping.

Job Summary:

Under routine supervision, this position is responsible for ensuring parts are available to truck and trailer technicians for repairs. Manage inventory stock levels, perform audits, and submit orders to maintain an adequate supply of parts. Maintain information systems and process core and warranty returns according to Company requirements. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; it requires full-time attendance.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill parts requests by technicians and ensure parts are properly charged to the unit under repair
• Observe all Company safety requirements
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Mentor and train other shop personnel
• Ensure compliance of safety policies
• Maintain a clean, well-ordered work environment free of trash and hazards
• Retain and ship parts per the Company’s Warranty Retention and Core Management procedures
• Provide administrative support by copying and typing correspondence, maintaining records and filing
• Maintain JBHT information systems in regards to parts receipts, shipments, inventories, and usage
• Ensure each unit has required inventory of equipment in order to determine usability and replacement of non-functional equipment
• Conduct Cycle Counts and periodic inventories as required Receive inbound shipments of parts and fuel to ensure proper quantity ordered and free of damage; stock inbound parts to proper storage location and update information systems

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and up to a 12 to 18 months of direct experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education,experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may beeligible forannual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of theCompany’s bonusand incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
