Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Parts Clerk to support the Parts Manager in receiving, inspecting, and organizing heavy-duty truck and trailer parts. You will assist customers and technicians in selecting parts and provide pricing information to keep repairs moving smoothly.

The role emphasizes accurate inventory control, strong organization, and adherence to safety protocols, with a focus on timely, correct parts fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a parts or inventory role is preferred.
• Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck parts.
• Experience with cycle counts and maintaining inventory accuracy.
• Knowledge of markup, gross margin, and discounting policies.
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.

• Assist the Parts Manager as needed
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders
• Conduct cycle counts and ensure proper storage and organization of parts
• Distribute parts promptly to technicians, ensuring correct parts are provided for vehicle repairs and maintenance
• Assist customers and technicians in identifying and selecting appropriate parts
• Provide product information and pricing as requested
• Keep the parts department clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations
• Assist with daily parts flow and ensure vendors and customers receive the right parts on time

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a parts or inventory role preferred
• Strong understanding of Heavy Duty Truck parts
• Strong understanding of Heavy Duty Trailer parts
• Familiarity with computerized inventory systems is a plus
• Strong understanding of parts inventory management
• Experience monitoring inventory accuracy through cycle counts and full physical counts
• Knowledge of markup, gross margin, and discounting policies
• Experience tracking stock movements: receiving, issuing, returns, and transfers
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong attention to detail
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
• Must have a clean driving record
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
