Parts Counterperson for our Master Chevrolet Cadillac Store In Aiken, SC.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Summary: The Parts Department Counter person assistant assures proper control of the parts inventory and related administrative functions. This person is responsible for receiving and recording new parts inventory; maintaining parts databases; maintaining a safe and secure environment. The parts counter person also handles phone, electronic (email or other source), and face-to-face interaction with retail, wholesale customers as well as fellow employees.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

  1. Promptly meet and assist technicians, retail guests, phone sales, and fellow employees in a friendly, courteous manner.
  2. Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing codes and transfer the information to the proper document and computer system.
  3. Answer all telephone calls promptly, courteously, and make every effort to satisfy the caller’s inquiry.
  4. Check in and stock incoming inventory in the correct location. Create bin locations for new or overflow stock.
  5. Create and maintain merchandising displays to promote product sales.
  6. Stock items by unpacking, arranging, and placing items in bins and on shelves; adjusting inventory system.
  7. Receive returned items by inspecting items; re-packing and re-shelving items; returning damaged and unused parts to supplier. Generate any required credit memos.
  8. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading about new products; utilizing manufacturer online training.
  9. Assist Parts Manager in processing weekly stock orders and place daily parts orders.
  10. Process buyback returns as well as core returns to the manufacturer. Ensure that credits are received for returned parts, forward paperwork to accounting.
  11. Provide necessary information to the Warranty Department to allow prompt filing of parts warranties, i.e.: Look up part numbers for claims. Process warranty parts returns. Maintain warranty shelf by pulling scrap parts from the approved manufacturer list.
  12. Match purchase orders and invoices, approve, and forward to accounting office.
  13. Assist in preparing for annual parts inventory.
  14. Assist in keeping parts department clean, safe, and presentable.
  15. Work with Parts Manager to identify potential clients and complete sales calls as determined by the Parts Manager.
  16. Perform all duties as assigned by any member of management.
  17. Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
  18. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards outlined in the employee handbook.
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

  1. Ability to withstand prolonged periods of computer usage and/or data entry.
  2. Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for prolonged periods.
  3. Ability to work in various working conditions both indoors and outdoors, including but not limited to extreme heat and/or cold, and rain.
  4. Ability to kneel, bend, and/or reach above the shoulders.
  5. Required to move throughout the parts shelves all day, reaching and climbing to obtain parts from inventory.
  6. Must be able to lift up to fifty pounds.
