A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Parts Room Attendant for night shifts. The role involves managing inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and maintaining records of parts and supplies. Ideal candidates will have experience with mechanical equipment and strong organizational skills. This position requires physical activity and adherence to safety protocols. To control parts room inventory, identify, order, catalog, store, account for, and issue machine parts, supplies, and materials used by the division.
Participate as a member of the team. Engage in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T. practices with all team members. Attend appropriate team meetings. Foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plans, budgets, and policy changes. Identify areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team leader to resolve issues, actively seeking ways to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
Familiarity with Simmons' operating systems principles and objectives: Understand and support Simmons' established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies). Recognize the impact of individual actions on these systems and communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives. This description guides the activities of the Parts Room Attendant but is not exhaustive of all work that may be required.
Work in environments that may be wet, noisy, dusty, humid, hot, or cold, with an unpleasant odor. Ability to walk and stand for the entire shift. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Frequent pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting. Work from step ladders. Use various chemicals and PPE in accordance with MSDS/SDS sheets.
