Job summary

Kerry Brothers Truck Repair in Michigan is hiring a Parts Purchaser to help source heavy-duty truck parts, manage inventory, and drive sales at the counter. The role requires 2-3 years in parts purchasing, strong negotiation, and knowledge of truck components.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or certification in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in parts purchasing, procurement, or inventory management, preferably in the heavy-duty trucking or automotive industry.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in computerized inventory management systems, purchasing software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of heavy-duty truck systems, components, and parts cataloging, with the ability to identify and source parts for specific vehicle applications.

Responsibilities

• Parts sourcing and procurement for heavy-duty truck, trailer, and equipment parts; negotiate pricing and contracts.
• Over-the-counter parts sales to walk-in, phone, and commercial customers; quote and invoice accurately.
• Monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and lead times to support operations and sales.
• Identify parts by VINs and specifications; ensure OEM compatibility and support technicians.
• Generate purchase orders, coordinate with accounting for invoices and payments.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships; track orders and resolve shipment discrepancies.
• Receive shipments, organize the parts warehouse, and ensure proper documentation.
