Job description

A hands-on leadership role combining operational ownership, team leadership, inventory and parts planning, and a significant systems transformation agenda.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Parts & Planning leader to take ownership of a vital US and Canada parts operation and lead its next stage of development.

This role combines day-to-day operational execution with leadership of the Parts & Planning team, inventory and assortment planning, parts distribution, pricing, customer support, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work directly alongside the operational team to ensure delivery while also challenging established processes and introducing more efficient ways of working.

The operation is supplied through international sources and serves a broad U.S. dealer and distributor network. The position therefore requires strong planning discipline, operational agility, and the ability to balance parts availability, inventory investment, logistics cost, and customer service.

Why This Role Matters

The Parts function is entering an important phase of development. The new Manager will not only run the current operation but will also help shape a more efficient, scalable, and modern way of working. A major component of the role will be the evolution of legacy parts processes and systems, including participation in system development, integration, and migration initiatives with global teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Develop the Team – Provide direction, structure, coaching, and development for the Parts & Planning team while remaining actively engaged in day-to-day operations.
  • Own Parts Planning and Inventory Strategy – Establish and continuously optimize parts assortment, purchasing, replenishment, inventory levels, and stock availability to balance customer needs with working capital objectives.
  • Drive Operational Excellence – Maintain hands‑on oversight of daily parts activities, including order management, backorders, availability challenges, and time‑sensitive customer requirements.
  • Oversee Parts Distribution and Logistics – Manage and coordinate warehouse activities, transportation providers, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure efficient and reliable parts flow.
  • Manage Pricing and Order Management – Lead parts pricing activities, including pricing analysis and price book management, while ensuring effective and efficient order management processes.
  • Lead Business Systems Transformation – Serve as the primary business owner and subject‑matter expert for Parts throughout system development, integration, implementation, migration, and enhancement initiatives.
  • Drive Modernization and Continuous Improvement – Evaluate existing processes, challenge traditional approaches, and identify opportunities to simplify, automate, digitize, and improve the overall parts operation.
  • Partner Across the Global Organization – Collaborate with international entities, corporate teams, and cross‑functional stakeholders to align parts systems, processes, operating standards, and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within parts, aftermarket, inventory planning, supply chain, logistics, or a related operational environment.
  • A hands‑on leadership approach, with the ability to effectively lead and develop a team while stepping into operational activities when business needs require it.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory planning and optimization, including assortment planning, ordering, replenishment, stock levels, and international supply lead times.
  • Experience with ERP, parts management, inventory, order management, or other business‑critical operational systems.
  • A proven track record of leading or contributing to system implementations, data or system migrations, business transformations, and significant process improvement initiatives.
  • A continuous‑improvement mindset with the confidence to question established practices and develop more efficient ways of working.
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and operational judgment, with the ability to balance parts availability, working capital, logistics costs, and customer service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving environment where priorities can shift and timely decision‑making is essential.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across countries, functions, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Experience in automotive, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, machinery, or another complex parts‑intensive industry is strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement: 100% on-site, Monday through Friday

This position is part of a lean, highly collaborative organization where individual ownership and initiative are critical. Success in the role requires a proactive, responsive, and hands‑on approach, along with the ability to work closely with colleagues and partners to solve problems and keep operations moving.
