# Parts ManagerBlaze Equipment - 30 - Fort Worth, TX 76135## OverviewPosition TypeFull TimeJob ShiftDay## Parts Manager**POSITION SUMMARY**The Parts Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the Parts Department, including parts sales, parts support for shop and field work orders, warehouse and receiving operations, inventory control, and department personnel. Success in this role is measured by parts sales, gross margin, fill rate, inventory turns, inventory accuracy, and overall department profitability. Daily responsibilities also include managing department operations, ensuring employees perform their duties effectively, and identifying the parts required to support customers and service operations. To ensure finished replacement parts are available for parts sales, shop and field technicians, and timely equipment repairs, this position works closely with the Purchasing and Planning Manager, who remains responsible for replenishment, stocking levels, and supplier management.**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES****Department Operations & Profitability*** Own parts sales, gross margin, and operating expense against the annual budget, and report fill rate, lost sales, backorder aging, turns, obsolescence, and corrective actions.* Establish and enforce pricing and discount policy that balances margin, volume, and customer loyalty, approving exceptions within defined authority.**Customer Parts Sales & Business Development*** Manage counter, phone, and email parts sales, identifying parts by model, serial number, and application, and returning price and availability the same business day.* Ensures returns, core exchanges, and warranty parts claims, including credit issuance and return of material are completed within the vendor claim window.* Grow parts revenue through outside sales calls, OEM programs, aftermarket vendor programs, and recommendation of wear parts and tooling suited to the customer's drill rig and ground conditions.**Service & Work Order Support*** Pull, kit, and stage parts against open work orders.* Charge parts accurately to work orders, unit numbers, and rental fleet assets so repair cost, warranty recovery, and fleet expense are captured.* Treat machine-down requirements as the department's first priority, and support after-hours and weekend parts call-outs as needed.**Inventory Control, Receiving & Warehouse Operations*** Direct shipping, receiving, and delivery: verify inbound freight against packing lists and purchase orders, and put material away the day it arrives.* Address shortages, damage, wrong parts, and core and warranty discrepancies.* Run a cycle count program on a published schedule, research variances to root cause, and lead the annual physical inventory.* Maintain warehouse layout, bin integrity, and cleanliness across the parts room and yard, and control access and transaction discipline to prevent unrecorded issues and loss.**Coordination with Purchasing & Planning*** Meet monthly with the Purchasing and Planning Manager to review parts usage, lost sales, aging backorders, and obsolete or slow-moving inventory requiring disposition.* Recommend changes to stocked parts and minimum/maximum quantities based on customer demand and service activity, and identify inventory settings contributing to stockouts or excess inventory. The Purchasing and Planning Manager retains responsibility for establishing stocking levels, reorder points, and safety stock.* Place machine-down and emergency parts orders within established purchasing authority. The Purchasing and Planning Manager is responsible for all other purchase orders, supplier commitments, and purchasing decisions.**Personnel Leadership*** Interview, hire, train, schedule, and appraise parts counter, warehouse, and shipping and receiving personnel, and address performance issues.* Approve time records and manage overtime, counter coverage, and after-hours rotation.**Safety & Compliance*** Follow all OSHA and company safety standards, and ensure receiving, material handling, rigging, forklift operation, and storage are executed safely.* Enforce hazardous material and contamination control practices, and report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.**QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE ENVIRONMENT*** Five or more years in a heavy equipment or commercial truck dealer parts operation, including three or more years supervising parts personnel.* High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Manufacturer or dealer parts management training a plus.* Ability to identify parts from parts books, exploded views, and serial-driven configuration. Familiarity with foundation drilling equipment, tooling, and wear parts a plus.* Working understanding of inventory control theory, warehouse layout, pricing and discount principles, and parts financial reporting.* Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability requirements.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT*** Parts counter, warehouse, and yard environment with time in the service shop and exposure to weather, noise, dust, and heavy equipment.* Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance; squat, twist, bend, climb, and reach overhead; forklift and overhead crane operation required.* Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, including proper use of PPE. Safety-sensitive position.**TRAVEL AND SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS*** Based in Fort Worth, TX with travel up to 10% for customer visits, vendor training, and industry trade shows.* Standard Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional overtime or schedule adjustments based on business needs.
