Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, L.P. seeks a Parts Manager at our Canonsburg, PA branch to lead parts inventory, purchasing, and invoicing. You will supervise warehousing staff, coordinate with service and vendors, and implement 5S and inventory controls to maximize uptime and ROI.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in parts/service, CMMS experience, and prior supervisory experience, with strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in parts and service in a similar industry.
  • 3+ years of experience using a CMMS system.
  • 1+ years of experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
  • High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise parts inventory, purchasing and invoicing.
  • Accurately and timely orders, tracks, and receives parts for crane repairs and maintenance.
  • Label and stage parts and materials for repairs and maintenance once received at the branch.
  • Order shop supplies and PPE for mechanics and technicians.
  • Communicate with vendors via phone and email regarding shipments and orders.
  • Complete weekly inventory cycle counts and manage annual audit in warehouse to maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness in accordance with 5S program.
  • Coordinate parts inventory from manufacturers and communicating with vendors for company and customer owned equipment.
  • Confirm invoice accuracy.
  • Effectively manage inventory turns and slow-moving or obsolescent inventory.
  • Coordinate with the Service department and delivery schedules.
  • Plan and attain short and long-term objectives in line with company goals.
  • Forecast and plan processes and procedures to maximize department efficiency.
  • Work with the Branch Manager to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities, equipment and supplies
  • Manage warehouse admin personnel; including performance, counseling, staff scheduling, interviewing, attendance, etc.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Parts Manager will manage parts operations and personnel at the branch to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control.

Requirements
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in parts and service in a similar industry such as equipment rental, auto parts service, etc.
  • 3+ years’ experience using a CMMS system
  • 1+ years’ experience in team lead or supervisory role

  • Moderate computer skills and knowledge of CMMS systems
  • Moderate ability to build strategic working relationships
