Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL is seeking a Parts Information Specialist to design, create, and maintain technical parts information for Caterpillar products.

You will support new product introductions and process improvements while ensuring accuracy to Caterpillar standards. Responsibilities include using engineering data to confirm part numbers and quantities, collaborating with dealers and customers, and contributing to ongoing data quality efforts within the Product Support & Logistics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–4 years of work experience at Caterpillar or in a similar role.
  • Experience with Caterpillar systems like EDS, Teamcenter, HVC/PRWB or reading prints.

Responsibilities

  • Create and revise technical parts information in support of new product introduction, continuous process improvement, and revision timelines.
  • Ensure all parts information is created accurately per standards and participates in process improvement efforts.
  • Utilize engineering data to confirm part numbers, part names, and quantities for Caterpillar users.

Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.

The Parts Information Specialist designs, creates and maintains technical parts information for company products. Caterpillar Parts Authors are a critical team member working to provide best in class parts information to Caterpillar dealers and customers.

What You Will Do:
  • Creates and revises technical parts information in support of new product introduction, continuous process improvement, and revision timelines.

  • Utilizes engineering data to confirm part numbers, part names, and quantities for Caterpillar users.
What You Have (Basic Requirements):

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.
  • Service Excellence: Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.

Summary Pay Range:

$72,360.00 - $108,540.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
