Job summary

U-Haul Memphis is seeking a Parts Foreman to manage the shop’s parts inventory and keep our fleet in top condition. You’ll coordinate with internal teams, vendors and freight carriers to ensure timely repairs and stock levels.

The role emphasizes organization, attention to detail, and strong computer skills within a large nationwide fleet maintenance operation. The position offers hands-on responsibilities, room for professional growth, and a clear path to advancement in a busy repair shop

Responsibilities

  • Maintain adequate inventory to allow repairs of our fleet.

  • Audit inventory levels, reduce obsolete inventory and return unused parts.
  • Lend assistance in additional areas as directed by supervisor.

Parts Foreman Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adequate inventory to allow your shop to perform necessary repairs to our fleet.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with internal supply chain, vendors and freight carriers
  • The ability to maintain purchase orders, pay bills and reconcile issues
  • The ability to audit inventory levels, reduce obsolete inventory and return unused parts
  • Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Parts Foreman Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a clean driving record
  • Excellent organizational skills

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes and chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

Since 1945, U-Haul has been serving do-it-yourself movers and their households. Like many other successful ventures, the concept for U-Haul was generated out of need. After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis.
