Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway Automotive is seeking a Part-Time Parts Driver in Evansville, IN to deliver and pick up parts for customers and vendors. The role requires a valid driver’s license and a clean MVR, and work is done on-site with a day shift across three days per week.

You will log deliveries, obtain signatures, unload the truck nightly, and help maintain the parts department’s appearance and vehicle readiness while following company policies.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to read safety rules and manuals; ability to write simple reports.
  • Strong basic math for money, weight, distance and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors.
  • Coordinate pickups with Parts Manager and others before leaving.
  • Complete a delivery log and obtain recipient’s signature.
  • Unload truck each night and turn in paperwork.
  • Maintain the appearance of the parts department.
  • Keep the delivery vehicle clean and operable.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Schedule: Part Time/Day Shift/ 3 days a week

SUMMARY

The Parts Driver delivers and picks up parts and equipment for the dealership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deliver parts and equipment to customers and vendors.
  • Pick up parts and equipment from customers and vendors, to be coordinated with the Parts Manager, Inventory Control Clerk, Parts Counter people, or Shipping and Receiving Clerk before leaving.
  • Complete a log at the time of delivery and request recipient’s signature.
  • Unload truck each night. Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
  • Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Maintain the parts delivery vehicle; ensure it is clean and operating properly.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple reports. Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one with customers, employees and vendors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current, valid, driver’s license; satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) are required.
