Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, part of Rush Enterprises Inc., seeks an Assistant Parts Manager to support the Parts Department leadership and ensure smooth daily operations. You will supervise sales staff, assist customers in selecting parts, communicate specials, and act as liaison with Centralized Purchasing when the Parts Manager is away.

You’ll review Managed Dealer Inventory orders and handle stock requests and quotes, delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Three months’ experience in parts department functions.
• Must be computer literate and able to perform data entry.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Supervise employees engaged in sales work, taking inventories, keeping operating records, or performing work of subordinates as needed.
• Assist customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials, and ensure exposure to the full product line.
• Liaise between operations and Centralized Purchasing in the absence of the Parts Manager.
• Review daily orders for Managed Dealer Inventory (MDI) when the Parts Manager is unavailable.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information.
• Pull and fill orders from stock.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing attention.
• Notify service technicians and customers when special ordered parts are received.
• Assist with receiving daily stock orders.
