Parts Delivery Driver - Overnight Shift - Class B CDL (Transportation)

The Driver Light position is responsible for the pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts at customer sites and at other branch locations, reflecting the company's vision of working as “One Professional Team.” This role involves maintaining proper paperwork, ensuring a professional appearance with all vehicles, and providing basic operational instructions to customers on the safe operation of all equipment. Depending on location or branch, the driver may perform some or all of the listed functions. Early or late hours and/or weekends may be required.

Pay Rate: $21.00 - $24.57 per hour + 2nd Shift differential. Pay rate depends on education and experience.

Hours: 9pm - 9am, Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based on business needs.

Essential Functions:
  • Complete and maintain daily truck logs, including fuel and mileage reports, IFTA paperwork, daily logs (including DOT logs), and relevant information regarding pick-ups, deliveries, and transfers. Manage use of company fuel card.
  • Maintain vehicle presentation and ensure it meets DOT inspections.
  • Report unsafe conditions regarding equipment use.
  • Optimize daily routines for efficiency and productivity, working with managers to implement improvements.
  • Assist with workload in other departments or branch areas when not engaged in regular tasks.
  • Serve customers professionally and courteously, meeting their needs and requests.
  • Collaborate with Counter and Shop personnel to stay informed about company equipment.
  • Promote additional sales by explaining and suggesting other equipment or services, requiring knowledge of all products and services.
  • Conduct daily post-trip vehicle inspections as per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration standards.
  • Maintain vehicle safety through daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, glass, fluids, and tire pressures.
  • Prepare vehicles for the next day, including fueling and pre-loading when possible.
  • Learn and understand equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operation.
  • Demonstrate to customers how to operate delivered equipment safely and effectively.
  • Inspect equipment for damage at pickup, document findings, and report damages upon return.
  • Comply with DOT Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Travel Requirements:

75%-100%

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years professional driving experience
  • 3-5 years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3-5 years customer service experience
  • 1-3 years working knowledge of construction equipment
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
  • Valid CDL Driver's License - Class B or A
  • Excellent driving record (no DUIs or suspensions)
