JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Delivery Driver

JOB REPORTS TO: Parts Manager

EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT: Non-Exempt

FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME: Full Time/ Part Time

JOB SUMMARY:

Position with primary responsibility for delivery and pickup of parts to/from customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Deliver parts to customers in a timely & safe manner.
2. Pickup parts from vendors in a timely & safe manner.
3. Pick parts for customers' orders in a timely & safe manner.
4. Maintain clean and safe delivery trucks.
5. Pick up and return all cores to proper locations in a timely & safe manner.
6. Return all parts returns to inside parts representative.
7. Obtain proper signatures for proof of deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must meet company standards for clean driving record.
2. Must have current driver's license.

MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:

Basic office equipment (copier, calculator, fax, etc.).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Primarily a warehouse environment with varying temperatures. Significant day travel in truck.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

SITTING/STANDING/WALKING REQUIREMENTS:

1. Total hours of sitting at one time – 1 hour.
2. Total hours of sitting in a typical workday – 5 hours.
3. Total hours of standing at one time – 0.5 hours.
4. Total hours of standing in a typical workday – 2 hours.
5. Total hours of walking in a typical workday – 2 hours.

TALKING/HEARING/VISION REQUIREMENT:

1. Talking – Person to person, on the phone, and in group settings.
2. Hearing – In person, on the phone, and in a group setting.

PUSHING/PULLING/LIFTING/CARRYING REQUIREMENT:

1. Delivery drivers are required to carry parts from the shipping area for loading their truck/van and to unload them at the customer’s location. Forklifts are available for over 50 pounds and hand trucks.
2. The typical weight is 1+ pounds and the maximum is 50 pounds.
3. Typical distance is 20 to 100 feet.
4. Frequency is 18 times per day.
5. Duration is 1 hour at a time.
