We are currently looking for a Parts Crib Attendant to join our team. The Parts Crib Attendant will be responsible for managing the parts inventory within the designated parts crib, ensuring accurate storage, retrieval, and distribution of components to production personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inventory Management:

  • Receive incoming parts, verify quantities against purchase orders, and properly store them in designated locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using a computer system, including tracking part numbers, quantities, and location details.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to identify discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Identify and report low stock items to initiate reordering process.

Part Distribution:

  • Issue parts to production personnel based on work orders or requests, ensuring proper documentation and authorization.
  • Locate and retrieve specific parts quickly and efficiently.
  • Verify part numbers and condition before issuing.

Inventory Organization:

  • Maintain a clean and organized parts crib, including proper labeling and storage systems.
  • Implement strategies to optimize space utilization within the crib.

Quality Control:

  • Inspect incoming parts for damage or defects, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Identify and quarantine potentially defective parts.

Reporting:

  • Generate reports on inventory levels, usage trends, and any discrepancies.
  • Communicate stock status and potential issues to production supervisors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in inventory management systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and interpret part numbers and blueprints
  • Basic math skills for inventory calculations
  • Ability to lift and move moderately heavy parts

Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Lighting is good and temperatures will be hot in summer and cold in the winter. Earplugs, eye protection, steel toed shoes and hair nets are required in the production area. Gloves, face-shield and other various types of protective equipment must be worn when working around machinery.
