Job description

Parts Counterperson Specialist

$18/hour

Luther is currently seeking a Parts Counterperson Specialist to assist in our Parts area across all dealerships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work with our corporate team and gain exposure to all manufacturers. Candidates must be willing to travel from location to location and be comfortable with a changing schedule based on dealership needs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
  • Train parts counter persons on best practices.
  • Communicate with customers on parts status.
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Be able to read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate.
  • Provide high level service to internal and external customers.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock.
  • Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock.
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order if necessary.
  • Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with auto parts sales (preferred).
  • Able to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
