Job summary

Elgin Toyota in Hanover Township, IL seeks a motivated Parts Counterperson to join the growing Parts Department. You will manage the parts sales process, assist customers and staff, and collaborate with the Parts Manager to locate parts not in stock.

Prior experience in automotive parts sales is preferred; Toyota experience is a plus. The role emphasizes strong customer service, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accurate records and

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive parts sales or parts department experience preferred.
• Toyota experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Manage the parts sales process from beginning to end while providing excellent customer service.
• Assist customers and dealership staff with identifying and locating the correct automotive parts.
• Work closely with the Parts Manager to locate parts that are not currently in stock.
• Process special-order parts requests and communicate order status and availability to customers.
• Maintain accurate parts orders, records, and inventory information.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, technicians, service advisors, and other team members.
• Help maintain an organized, efficient, and customer-focused Parts Department.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
