Job summary

Grubbs Automotive is seeking an Automotive Parts Counter person to manage procurement, inventory, and distribution of vehicle parts. You will lead a team of parts specialists and ensure exceptional customer service for technicians and service advisors.

This role requires strong knowledge of parts, excellent organizational skills, and a focus on accuracy. A valid driver’s license is required for this on-site position with growth opportunities within the dealership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Previous experience in automotive parts management or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of automotive parts and accessories.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership abilities with a focus on team building and employee development.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
• Valid driver's license in the state that you will work and a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of automotive parts and accessories.
• Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment orders as needed.
• Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and minimize shrinkage.
• Procurement: Source automotive parts and accessories from suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
• Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvements.
• Stay abreast of market trends and new products to ensure a competitive advantage.
• Distribution: Coordinate the distribution of parts to technicians and service advisors in a timely manner.
• Ensure that parts are correctly labeled, stored, and organized for easy retrieval.
• Implement efficient processes to streamline the distribution workflow.
• Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of parts specialists.
• Set performance goals and provide regular feedback to optimize team performance.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
• Customer Service: Interact with customers to identify their parts needs and provide expert advice.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Work closely with service advisors to ensure that parts are available for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with factory policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized parts department that meets industry standards.
• Keep abreast of regulatory changes affecting the automotive parts industry and implement necessary adjustments.
