Ascendance Truck Centers is seeking a second shift Parts Counter Person to sell parts over the counter, shop, or by phone. The role requires friendly, professional service and the ability to work with the full product line.

Responsibilities include assisting customers, providing price quotes, processing orders, coordinating freight, and maintaining accurate records. A strong emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and timely communication with the shop and service team is essential.

Qualifications

• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; speak before groups of customers or employees.

Responsabilités

• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures exposure to the full product line.
• Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Determines all incoming freight charges and bills appropriate repair order or sales order.
• Reviews body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing alignment with the estimate.
• Provides high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Pulls and fills orders from stock.
• Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials needing immediate attention.
• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submits emergency orders if necessary.
• Notifies service advisor and customer when special ordered parts have been received.
• Notifies the body shop when all parts have arrived.
• Pulls orders for delivery to body shop, ensuring parts are tagged with customer names and job numbers.
• Follows up on back-ordered parts.
• Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors or stocks items not picked up.
• Replenishes assigned inventory daily.
• Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer and invoices are provided to customers.
• Maintains orderly records of repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.

SCHEDULE:

• Must be able to work the scheduled hours of Monday through Friday 2:00Pm to 10:00Pm with rotating Saturdays working 7:00Am to 12:00Pm

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists all customers (retail and shop) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
• Informs customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line.

• Provides high level of service to internal and external customers.
• Pulls and fills orders from stock.

• Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an emergency order, if necessary.
• Notifies the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
• Notifies the body shop when all parts have arrived.

• Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
• Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization.
• Ensures that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
• Ensures that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
• Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
• Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
• Sets up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Solicits assigned accounts by phone.
• Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
• Cleans computer terminals and printers daily.
• Participates in all training programs that are made available.
• Keeps current on new products and product updates.
• Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
• Maintains professional appearance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications, preferred
• Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification, preferred
