Job summary

Kenworth Sales Co. in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Parts Counter Representative (2nd Shift) to handle internal and external requests for parts and assist customers in person, by phone, or electronically.

Schedule is 3:30pm– Midnight. Requires 2 years heavy‑duty truck parts experience and a High School Diploma. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; forklift operation and basic computer skills are a plus. Benefits include health, dental, FSAs, 401(k), and paid leave.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with inquiries and parts sales in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Research customer requests and determine correct parts needed.
• Process invoices if in stock or create purchase orders for orders.
• Provide quotes for parts requested and transfer/post for work orders.
• Monitor invoices, will-call tickets, and quotes to ensure compliance with guidelines.
• Assist with inventory and core returns to vendors.
• Maintain retail area, restock shelves, price, and organize parts bins.
• Deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Assist with annual parts inventory and counting activities.
• Coordinate with Service to ensure timely parts availability for internal jobs.
• Collaborate with sales to meet customer needs for parts and services.

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $22-$30 per hour

JOB SUMMARY: Schedule: 3:30pm- Midnight The primary function of the Parts Counter Representative is to handle internal and external customer requests for parts purchases.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist customers with inquires and parts sales, in person, by phone, in person and electronically.
• Research customer request and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed.
• If part(s) are in stock, produce invoices from computer system; if not in stock and customer wants to order, create purchase order and process orders.
• Review parts requests from the service department and provide quotes for parts requested. Transfer and post all approved parts requested for work orders.
• Monitor all invoices, will-call pick tickets, and quotes generated to ensure compliance with department guidelines. Resolve disputed invoices and credits.
• Assist with inventory and core returns to vendors, including pulling, packing, and shipping.
• Assist in maintenance of retail area, restocking shelves, pricing, organization, overall appearance and maintaining parts bins, i.e., rearranging parts, cleaning, labeling, etc.
• Delivery of parts to customers as the need arises.
• Assist with annual parts inventory physical count, to include actual physical counting of parts, tallying of counts, etc.
• Coordinate with the Service Department to ensure timely availability of parts for internal jobs.
• Collaborate with inside and outside sales teams to deliver effective solutions to meet customer needs for parts and services.
• Complete all required job-related training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent. 2 years heavy duty truck parts experience. Mechanical aptitude desirable. Basic computer skills preferred. Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program. Understanding of standard office procedures, including filing and correspondence. Knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, and parts for heavy and medium duty diesel trucks. Excellent organization and communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves both sedentary and other work. For part of the shift, employee will work at a desk in a warehouse setting doing paperwork, telephoning, and filing. For part of the shift, employee will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of at least 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis, as well as heavier loads with forklifts and/or additional assistance will be required. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
