Responsibilities

• Assist customers with parts sales in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Research customer requests to determine correct parts.
• Create invoices or purchase orders based on stock availability.
• Provide quotes for parts from service departments and post approved parts to work orders.
• Monitor invoices, quotes, and will-call tickets for compliance.
• Assist with inventory, core returns, packing, and shipping.
• Maintain retail area, shelves, pricing, and parts bins.
• Deliver parts to customers as needed.
• Support annual parts inventory counts.
• Coordinate with Service to ensure parts availability for internal jobs.
• Collaborate with sales teams to meet customer needs for parts and services.
• Complete all required job-related training.

Parts Counter Representative

Kenworth Sales Co. is looking for a Parts Counter Representative to join our Lewiston, ID team.

Salary Minimum and Maximum: $47k-$70k total compensation DOE

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Parts Counter Representative is to handle internal and external customer requests for parts purchases.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist customers with inquires and parts sales, in person, by phone, in person and electronically.
• Research customer request and needs where necessary and determine correct part(s) needed.
• If part(s) are in stock, produce invoices from computer system; if not in stock and customer wants to order, create purchase order and process orders.
• Review parts requests from the service department and provide quotes for parts requested. Transfer and post all approved parts requested for work orders.
• Monitor all invoices, will-call pick tickets, and quotes generated to ensure compliance with department guidelines. Resolve disputed invoices and credits.
• Assist with inventory and core returns to vendors, including pulling, packing, and shipping.
• Assist in maintenance of retail area, restocking shelves, pricing, organization, overall appearance and maintaining parts bins, i.e., rearranging parts, cleaning, labeling, etc.
• Delivery of parts to customers as the need arises.
• Assist with annual parts inventory physical count, to include actual physical counting of parts, tallying of counts, etc.
• Coordinate with the Service Department to ensure timely availability of parts for internal jobs.
• Collaborate with inside and outside sales teams to deliver effective solutions to meet customer needs for parts and services.
• Complete all required job-related training.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write and comprehend English instructions and information. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.High School Diploma or Equivalent.2 years heavy duty truck parts experience.Mechanical aptitude desirable.Basic computer skills preferred.Ability to operate warehouse forklift and complete formal training program.Understanding of standard office procedures, including filing and correspondence.Knowledge of bills of lading, freight bills, and parts for heavy and medium duty diesel trucks.Excellent organization and communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position involves both sedentary and other work. For part of the shift, employee will work at a desk in a warehouse setting doing paperwork, telephoning, and filing. For part of the shift, employee will stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees, and customers. Lifting of at least 50 lbs. without assistance on a daily basis, as well as heavier loads with forklifts and/or additional assistance will be required. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and nonhazardous materials.
