Job summary

Linder Industrial Machinery Company in Asheville, NC is seeking a Parts Counter Representative to assist customers with parts purchases at the counter or by phone. You will process orders, source parts, communicate with vendors, and manage parts inventory for service and customers.

The role requires an AA degree or equivalent and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position at our Asheville location.

Qualifications

• AA/AS or equivalent from two-year college or tech school, or equivalent combination.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.

Responsibilities

• Complete purchase orders and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Utilize industry data – including manuals and electronic data – to determine specific parts needed by customers, as well as diagnostic assistance to customers.
• Contact vendors to order parts.
• Review invoices to ensure parts received accurately reflect parts ordered on original requisition forms.
• Store parts in designated area and issue parts to service department/customers as needed.
• Maintain records of parts received and distributed; inventory parts in warehouse periodically.

Job Description

Provides assistance to customers who wish to purchase parts at the parts counter or via telephone. Orders, receives and distributes equipment parts on behalf of customers.
