Job summary

Transdev in Englewood, CO is seeking a Parts Clerk to support the maintenance department. You will physically locate stock, issue parts to technicians, and accurately record data to ensure safe, reliable bus fleets.

The role involves daily cycle counts, orderly parts organization, and collaboration with the Parts Manager on special orders. A forklift license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Able to read instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Ability to utilize standard computer programs.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Some knowledge of parts and tools for diesel equipment preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends/holidays; minimum one weekend day shift.
• Possess a forklift license or obtain within 90 days.
• ASE Part Certification preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Gather required parts for technicians and ensure all parts are checked out correctly before dispensing.
• Perform daily cycle-counts of inventory and upload into the system.
• Keep the parts department organized and clean.
• Inform Parts Manager of special orders or urgent parts that require ordering.
• Receive, label, and store parts from Vendors.
• Package and label core returns and notify Parts Manager for pickup.
• Conduct hourly shop walks to identify misplaced parts.
• Inspect the Forklift daily.
• Break down boxes and pallets and dispose accordingly.
• Maintain shelf accuracy and proper part placement.
• Manage inventory quality and vendor relationships.

Parts Clerk

Transdev in Englewood, CO is hiring a Parts Clerk. The Parts Clerk is responsible for clerical and organization functions in the maintenance department.The Parts Clerk will physically checks stock locations, issues parts and tools to maintenance personnel, correctly record data to ensure the Maintenance Department is able to maintain the bus fleet in safe operating condition; and assists in satisfying the material needs of other internal and external customers as needs arise. The Parts Clerk may also be asked to order supplies as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for gathering required parts for technicians and ensuring all parts are checked out correctly before dispensing.

• Performs daily cycle-counts of inventory and uploads into the system.

• Always organize and maintain a clean parts department.

• Responsible for informing Parts Manager of any special order or urgent parts that require ordering.

• Receives, labels and puts away all parts that are received from Vendors.

• Boxes up and labels core returns to be picked up. Notifies Parts Manager of pick up.

• Performs hourly walks of the shop to identify any parts in the shop that are left out.

• Performs a daily inspection of the Forklift.

• Break down boxes and dispose accordingly.

• Break down and cut up pallets and dispose accordingly.

• Cleans all shelving and ensures parts are in the correct locations.

• Analyze, charge and pallet bad batteries onto pallets to ship back to manufacture.

• Perform a daily fluid level Inventory and submit it to Parts Manager.

• Perform biannual physical inventory and weekly cycle counts to assure that an accurate parts inventory is always maintained.

• Organizes shelving in accordance with part group description.

• Empties trash bins in the Parts Department nightly.

• Help perform light facility and building maintenance.

• Help with office staff as needed.

• Help ensure environmental and preventative measures are in place and replaced as required.

• Parts pick up and drop off.

• Creates and establishes a great relationship with vendors and carriers.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ability to write simple correspondence

• Ability to utilize standard computer programs

• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills required

• Some knowledge of parts and tools needed to repair diesel equipment preferred

• Must be able to work any days, weekends, or Holidays. This is subject to change based upon the demands of the company and client. This position will require a minimum of one weekend day shift

• Possess a folk lift license or can obtain a forklift license within 90-day probationary period

• ASE Part Certification preferred or the ability to obtain within the first twelve (12) months of employment

• Excellent attendance is required

• Positive and Energetic attitude

• Demonstrated ability in working with standard office machines including, but not limited to, fax, copy machine, printers and label makers

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

• Fifty (50) percent of work is accomplished in an open-garage facility/outdoors.

• Will be required to lift packages of up to 75 pounds.

• Performs physical activities that require considerable use of the arms, repetitive hand-wrist motion; and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.
