Job summary

Highland Refrigeration is seeking a Parts Assistant to support the parts team with ordering, receiving, stocking, and supplying parts in an industrial environment.

You will maintain accurate records, verify shipments, and prepare parts for maintenance or repair, while coordinating orders with suppliers and supervising an assistant. A forklift driver with inventory acumen is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory management effectively.
• Ensuring accurate tracking and recording of parts information.
• Ability to lift and move parts, potentially requiring some physical exertion.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and other computer systems.
• Understanding different types of parts and their applications is helpful, especially in specialized industrial settings.
• Experience operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining accurate records of parts, including quantities, locations, and condition.
• Receive incoming parts shipments, verify items against purchase orders, and properly storing parts in designated locations.
• Prepare parts for use in maintenance or repair activities, ensuring they are properly identified and packaged for delivery.
• Assist with the process of ordering parts, including communicating with suppliers, tracking orders, and managing back orders.
• Supervises and coordinates the work of an assistant who supports daily duties.
• Maintains general cleanup, organization, and maintenance of the parts and staging areas.
• Maintain a clean driving record and able to operate company vehicles.
• Maintain records of parts transactions, updating inventory databases, and potentially assisting with other administrative duties within the parts department.
• Ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures related to handling and storage of parts, particularly in an industrial environment.
• Provide assistance to team members who require parts, potentially including identifying and locating parts, and providing information on availability and pricing.

The pay range for this role is $33-37/hour.
