Job summary

Kenkotech Futures Limited is seeking a Partnerships Scientist in San Francisco to move scientists toward the business side of biotech by building valuable collaborations around human biological data.

You will work with leading scientists, PIs, universities and research institutions to identify opportunities and shepherd partnerships from outreach to diligence and launch, with no mandatory prior BD experience required but a strong commercial mindset is beneficial.

Qualifications

• PhD-level biology background with depth in genomics or related fields.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to engage with scientists.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with PIs, researchers, universities, and medical centers.
• Identify scientifically valuable datasets and research programs for partnerships.
• Originate and develop new scientific partnerships across institutions.
• Evaluate opportunities across genomics, multi-omics, and biomedical data.
• Coordinate with scientific, commercial, legal, and institutional stakeholders to move partnerships forward.

We’re partnering with an early-stage San Francisco TechBio company building human biological data infrastructure for frontier AI.

They work with researchers, academic medical centers and other scientific institutions to access differentiated human biological samples and datasets, creating large-scale datasets for cutting-edge AI research.

They’re looking for a Partnerships Scientist who combines strong scientific credibility with an outgoing, entrepreneurial and commercially minded personality.

The Opportunity

This is a chance to move from science into a highly external, commercial role while staying deeply connected to cutting-edge biology.

You’ll work directly with leading scientists, PIs, universities and research institutions to identify valuable scientific programs and build partnerships around human biological data.

You do not need previous BD experience. We’re particularly interested in exceptional scientists who naturally enjoy building relationships and want to move towards the business side of biotech.

Key Responsibilities

Ideal Background

• PhD in genomics, computational biology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, neuroscience or a related field
• Strong understanding of modern human biology and biomedical data
• Outgoing, curious and confident speaking with leading scientists
• Entrepreneurial and commercially minded
• Highly proactive, organized and comfortable moving quickly
• Interest in AI and its applications across biology and medicine
• Previous partnerships, licensing, tech transfer or BD experience is useful, but not required
