Partnerships Manager, Southern California

Position: Partnership Manager, Southern California

The Southern California Partnership Manager supports Study Smart Tutors’ efforts to expand its services to schools, non-profits, and college access programs. Responsibilities include researching federal and state grants, generating and maintaining a list of potential partners, direct outreach to clients, and attending virtual and in-person events and conferences. The role focuses on creating new business opportunities and managing existing partner relationships. The ideal candidate is a self-starter passionate about sales and client success.

This position involves email and phone communication to build relationships with potential partners. It is fully remote and reports to the Associate Director of California Partnerships.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Build relationships with current and new clients
  2. Provide outstanding relationship management to stakeholders
  3. Travel approximately 30% of the time for meetings, renewals, and support
  4. Attend trade shows and conferences to meet with and present to partners
  5. Assist with renewal cycles and retain clients across various organizations
  6. Increase footprint and business with existing clients
  7. Conduct outreach via calls, emails, and meetings to present products/services
  8. Create pathways for new partnerships with decision makers
  9. Maintain accurate lead and partner information in Salesforce
  10. Seek new business opportunities proactively
  11. Develop lists of target organizations
  12. Collaborate with marketing on campaigns
  13. Stay informed on industry trends and market conditions
Account Management
  1. Serve as the primary contact during the discovery phase
  2. Build and maintain strong partner relationships
  3. Conduct regular check-ins and business reviews
  4. Collaborate internally to deliver products/services effectively
  5. Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities
Other Duties
  1. Contribute to team efforts
  2. Perform day-to-day tasks such as research, outreach, follow-ups, and CRM updates
  3. Work with sales and marketing to develop strategies
Qualifications
  1. At least 2 years in a similar sales or development role
  2. Experience in education programming or sales
  3. Bachelor’s Degree
  4. Passion for increasing access to higher education for underrepresented students
  5. Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Salesforce
  7. Willingness to visit clients regionally as needed
  8. Ability to work independently and take direction
Salary and Benefits
  • Full-time, with a base salary of $70,000/year and OTE potential of $120,000+ (no cap, earn up to $300,000+)
