Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced supplier quality engineer to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions across PW partnership products and processes. You will collaborate with engineers, procurement, and support teams to resolve production challenges in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires expertise in AS9100/AS9145/AS13100, quality tools, and SAP-Fiori/QA data systems. Onsite work in the U.S. with competitive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or higher with related quality manufacturing experience.
  • Understanding of quality systems and methodologies and their impact on business.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience and leading RCA teams.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100/AS9145/AS13100).
  • Knowledge of quality tools: CORE, 8D, RCCA, PFMEA, GD&T and PPAP.
  • Blueprint reading and SAP-Fiori familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain relationships with Partners, PW Engineering, ESTO, Procurement and support organizations to resolve production challenges.
  • Analyze and recommend corrective actions for nonconformities and design problems in partnership products and processes.
  • Support investigation management and team meetings; assist in information gathering and review of population, root cause and corrective actions.
  • Manage supplier quality issues through monitoring, escalation, escape management and PPAP support.
  • Verify effectiveness and adherence to quality plans with partners.
  • Utilize QLIK, SAP-Fiori, and NetInspect to mine quality data (QNs, non-conformances, corrective actions, open tasks).
  • Recommend supplier qualification/certification, assessment and monitoring improvements.
  • Review process control documentation for compliance with requirements and contracts.
  • Develop corrective/preventive actions for systemic processes and supplier design problems.
  • Support Partnership Quality Standard Work development.
  • Engage in RCCA/8D follow-up and ownership.
  • Support and maintain APQP elements (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, Control Plans, PPAP).
  • Manage work transfer and change management processes including gating, MRL, and PPAP acceptance.
  • Ensure projects/documentation meet requirements and objectives.

What you Will Do
  • Create and maintain key relationships with Partners', as well as PW Engineering, ESTO, Procurement, and support organizations to resolve production challenges in a high paced environment.
  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for partnership produced products & processes.
  • Investigation management support / manage in team meetings, support of gathering information and review of population, root cause and corrective actions.
  • Support and manage supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal Product Recall processes.
  • Verifying effectiveness and adherence to quality plans with various partners.
  • Utilize systems (i.e., QLIK/SAP-Fiori, NetInspect) to mine data (Quality Notifications (QNs), non-conformances, corrective actions, turnbacks', open tasking etc.).
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for implementation of supplier qualification / certification, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes.
  • Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
  • Develops corrective and/or preventive actions for systemic processes and supplier product design problems.
  • Support Partnership Quality Standard Work development.
  • Active engagement and ownership in RCCA/8D follow up.
  • Support and ensure partnerships documenting and maintaining AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans, etc.).
  • Manages processes to ensure all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate, Manufacturing Readiness Level Planning and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance.
  • Ensure that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor degree in engineering, Quality, Industrial, Manufacturing or equivalent experience and 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience.
  • Experience working in manufacturing and quality environment.
  • Possess understanding of effective Quality systems and methodologies and their impact on both the internal and external business environments.
  • Root Cause Analysis experience, able to lead Root Cause determination teams.
  • Familiarity of aerospace standards (i.e., AS9100, AS9145, AS13100) standards.
  • Working knowledge in Quality tools such as CORE, 8D, RCCA, PFMEA, GD&T and PPAP.
  • Blueprint Reading.
  • SAP-Fiori Familiarization
Qualifications We Prefer
  • PC Skills, including Microsoft Suite, spreadsheet and database preferred.
  • Proficiency/expertise in Quality tools such as CORE, 8D, RCCA, PFMEA, GD&T and PPAP.
  • Working knowledge/ experience in AS9100 / ISO 9001 Quality systems.
  • SAP-Fiori proficient / expertise
  • Product knowledge of major rotating, critical to quality aerospace hardware.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of P&W management, partners / supplier and external customers.
  • Escape Management Experience.
  • Lean and Six-Sigma skill-set is a plus

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
