Job summary

US Solar is seeking a driven Partnership Development Lead to build and manage relationships with partners across New Mexico, driving enrollment in our community solar program. You will be the local face of our outreach, securing strategic partnerships and coordinating activities to boost awareness and participation.

The role emphasizes strong communication, proactive outreach, and the ability to travel across the state to support partner activations.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of demonstrable partnership management, community engagement or related experience in sustainability, nonprofit, or renewable energy space.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Familiarity with LIHEAP or community solar programs preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the state for meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, contact, and secure partnerships to support subscription and community engagement goals with municipalities and mission-aligned organizations.
  • Manage the entire partnership lifecycle from outreach to implementation and ongoing relationships.
  • Lead or support enrollment activities such as informational sessions, community presentations, and event tabling.
  • Track and report partner engagement activity and subscription progress internally.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on lead generation, communications, and enrollment tracking.

Role Overview

US Solar is seeking a driven and dynamic team member to help bring the benefits of clean energy to more New Mexico households. As the Partnership Development Lead, you will be responsible for building and managing relationships with a range of partners across the state to support enrollment in our community solar program. You will be the local face of our efforts, securing strategic partners and playing a central role in executing outreach activities that build trust and awareness around community solar.

This is an ideal role for a highly organized, proactive and skilled communicator who’s comfortable both in the field with community members and behind the scenes supporting partner success. Your work will help more income-qualified New Mexican households reduce their electricity cost burden, without the need for anything on their roofs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, contact, and secure partnerships to support US Solar’s subscription and community engagement goals, focusing on municipalities and mission-aligned organizations from all sectors
  • Manage the entire partnership lifecycle, from initial outreach to implementation and ongoing relationship management
  • Lead or support coordination for enrollment activities like hosting informational sessions, presenting to community groups, tabling at local events, preparing written or visual content for partner communication channels, etc.
  • Track and report internally on partner engagement activity and subscription progress
  • Help to shape relevant updates to the Sunscription platform, adapting partner tools and training as needed
  • Work with partners to adapt outreach materials and messaging for specific audiences to generate community solar enrollments
  • Collaborate with internal teams on lead generation, communications strategy and enrollment tracking
  • Regularly evaluate approach and outcomes to inform current and future enrollment/strategy decisions
  • Travel regularly throughout the state to play a role in partner-initiated activations and broader community visibility opportunities
  • Represent the brand with professionalism and clarity at all public engagements
  • Support the organization’s broader goal of building a trusted and recognizable presence in New Mexico
  • Strong execution skills that leverage an attention to detail and accountability towards set deliverables
  • Proven track record of developing and managing strategic partnerships
  • Clear experience in sales, community outreach, and/or partnership development
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter who can operate independently, manage logistics and drive local outcomes
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a results-oriented environment
  • Developing product offerings in-line with company goals and delivering proposals which clearly demonstrate the value proposition to the partner
  • Self-motivated to leverage role for driving positive social and environmental change
  • Effective working individually as well as with a team
  • Able to react quickly and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment with limited procedures in place
  • Strong intercultural competency with comfort working in and alongside racially, ethnically, and economically diverse communities

Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years of demonstratable partnership management, community engagement or related experience in the sustainability, nonprofit, or renewable energy space
  • Experience with local or federal Energy Assistance Programs (ex. LIHEAP) and/or familiarity with community solar programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of and passion for the solar marketplace, renewable energy, and increasing access to renewable solutions for all
  • Knowledge of and experience in New Mexican cultural and community landscapes, is preferred
  • Candidates with language fluency in both English and Spanish are considered a strong differentiator
  • Ability to travel within the state for meetings and events regularly
